Gilcee Art Program
Giclee Printing provides the highest quality fine art graphics in the tradition of original lithography.
Giclee Art provides the artist with additional products marketing price points. For example, you might have a 15x22 watercolor that you would sell for $200. Now you can also sell an 11x13 Giclee for $50, and a 15x22 Giclee for $125, thus you leverage your value.
Giclee Art also allows the artist to maintain a high quality portfolio of their work to show prospective customers without taking their work off the market.
Giclee Art when executed properly using the latest inks, paper and equipment, may have archival characteristics well in excess of the original artwork.
Giclee Art - Like many areas in the fine-art world some mystery has been attached to the term Giclee. Pronunciation varies: “zhee-clay” is the most common pronunciation. The French word “Giclee” translates in English to “Spraying of inks”. Giclee prints are digital copies of original artworks, made using high-resolution digital files and inkjet printers. Inkjet printers spray tiny droplets of ink onto flat media, including watercolor papers, canvas and other substrates, depending on the final desired aesthetic effect. Done well, Giclee prints are hard to distinguish from original artworks. Original art executed in watercolor, pastel, pen and ink, pencil, and charcoal are candidates. Giclee is an established medium in the fine-art community.
